April Fool’s Day Fun
A few years back the girls and I had fun with April Fool’s Day. I did a few pranks on the kids and then we joined forces to get Daddy as he slept in.
First thing I did was replace their Corn Pops cereal with popcorn. We told Lilo before we went to bed that she could pour herself a bowl of cereal in the morning and left it on the counter for her, but the funny part was in the morning she didn’t really get it. She came up to my room (as I slept in, she’s normally the first awake) and whispered to me that she couldn’t get cereal because there was popcorn in it. It was pretty funny that she was just confused so I told her, “April Fool’s”.
I also put food colouring in the milk.
Another trick was making jello and putting it in cups with a straw and calling it juice.
And finally when I woke up I came downstairs wearing a wig and told them my hair grew overnight. It tricked them for a bit.
Then to trick Dad we covered the house with googly eyes. I had that tacky stuff that you use to put posters up on the wall in university and used that on the back of the googly eyes and then we put them where ever we could think. It was funny and some of them stayed for a long time afterwards, like the ones on the top of our tv.
And we also stuck a piece of crumpled newspaper in his shoe so it would feel too small when he put it on.
We were pretty tame but it was fun. The kids enjoyed eating popcorn and jello for breakfast and Daddy got a laugh out of the googly eyes staring at him everywhere.
Now what to do this year? It’s a school day so I might put googly eyes in there lunch or fake bugs. I’ve collected a few fun ideas on Pinterest - go check them out. And if you have any great ideas let me know.
